The Christmas Show

E-mail Print
According to a tradition as old as Christmas in Europe itself, one of the components of the event, after the inaugural parade and the European buffet, is the cultural part, where each delegation is expected to present a song, a sketch or a dance relating to Christmas, to Christmas traditions or more generally to the traditions of a region. The show is not a contest or a competition, and the delegations presented their piece in their own way, some, it must be said, rather better than others. Suffice it to say that, in terms of applause, the most successful presentations were the local group of musicians called 'The Twins', the Bonneville sketch, the Tirana school's dance, and the Fundão school's final sketch on the theme of olive oil.
