INDEPENDENT COOK
The core task of an independent cook consists of planning, organising, supervising and carrying out the work in the kitchen under the responsibility of a manager. The independent cook independently prepares all dishes. He also submits initiatives for adjusting and varying the menu, and for the working method in the kitchen. In doing so he takes into account the formula of the establishment where he works. An independent cook is employed in traditional establishments (where many dishes are prepared on the spot) and in process-like establishments (Where a greater use is made of pretreated products and where less on the spot cooking is done.
INDEPENDENT WAITER/WAITRESS
The tasks of the independent waiter/waitress can be qualified partly as executive and partly as controlling. It concerns preliminary work, looking after and advising guests, processing data in the accounting system and concluding work. The independent waiter/waitress will carry out this work especially in luxury restaurants. The behaviour of guests in such establishments is more difficult to predict than in other establishments.
INDEPENDENT TRAVELLING ADVISER
This professional works independently in a travelling agency or with a tour operator. He informs and advises potential customers, sells trips, takes care of bookings and reservations for transportation and accommodation, and performs administrative tasks.
INDEPENDENT TOURIST INFORMATION ADVISER
An independent tourist information adviser is employed in a tourist information office. His work essentially consists of carrying out, co-ordinating and organising the supply of tourist information. INDEPENDENT RECREATION ADVISER
The core task of this qualification consists of independently carrying out, checking, co-ordinating and organising activities which are related with the front-office of a recreational establishments. The tasks of an independent Recreation adviser include: -looking after guests (reception, stay and recreational activities - recording (e.g. bookings and reservations - selling and rental (e.g. rent out bicycles)
