The outlines of the horeca, institutional catering, contract catering and tourism/ recreation qualification structure

The vocation descriptions which constituted the basis of the qualification structure were drafted by people with practical vocational experience. In other words: entrepreneurs and advisers in the horeca, the institutional catering, the contract catering and tourism and recreation. The "translation" of vocational descriptions into qualifications has been the joint work of people in the field and people in education.

The qualification structure has been approved by the board of the Landelijk Orgaan Beroepsonderwijs Horeca, Instellingskeuken, Contract-Catering en Toerisme (LOB HICT). (National Organisation for Vocational Education in Horeca, Institutional catering, Contract Catering and Tourism. This board consists of representatives of the industry and the education from those four branches. Subsequently the qualification structure was ratified by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sciences. The outlines of the qualification structure (final qualifications) are described below.
