Dear members of the AEHT,
Corona has impacted the world. This terrible virus is affecting us all and we are facing challenges as never before! The necessary measures taken in the countries all over the world in the battle against corona are unprecedented and the amount of casualties horrendous.
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to all of the families who have lost a loved one and wish everybody who is recovering from the virus at home or in the hospital a swift recovery.
We live in an uncertain time period. Very limited social lives, forced to stay at home and great concerns about the future. Our politicians are doing everything within their power to lead us through this crisis. Not all countries are following the same strategy but they are all agree about the important position of education in this process. There is agreement about how indispensable schools are to prevent our society of closing down completely. Despite the difficult circumstances, AEHT schools all around Europe are finding creative ways of continuing the educational process. They provide different digital possibilities for our students to keep on track. This is not only to maintain the educational process, but it also provides students the opportunity to share their worries and fears. Our teaching staff and management are crucial factors in the process of carrying on through this difficult crisis. The creativity and commitment shown by our member schools makes me very proud to be part of this family.
Please pay extra attention to the most vulnerable people around us. Do everything in your power to help people in need. With our destructed social life, loneliness is not far away. Use our AEHT network to get in touch with other members to discuss the challenges we are now facing as educators. We are the largest European network of schools in Hospitality & Tourism but we are also a big family. We are geographically spread all over Europe but in our hearts we are very close to each other.

Take care of yourself and everyone around you my friends,
