Christmas in Europe

Christmas in Europe is an activity open to the youth of all AEHT member organizations and has been organized every year since 1991 in a different country, with a different linguistic and sociocultural background, with a different main topic and different young people participating each year. Official school education does provide academic knowledge, but not enough understanding for socio-economic, demographic, cultural, environmental & technological challenges of our society & for developing essential key skills of great value to a career in the Hotel and Tourism sector generating >10% of the EU GDP and approx. 12% of all jobs. Acknowledging the high importance of non-formal and intercultural learning in the personal, social, professional development of youngsters and in forging active Europeancitizens, all partners from over 10 different European countries compliment and reinforce their participants’ formal education, providing them with an invaluable opportunity to share their rich variety of traditions relating to Christmas while appraising different approaches to fostering the above-mentioned developments by the acquisition of linguistic, cultural, professional competencies and key/transversal skills, essential for their CV and their employability.
